Workshop 2 (2 CE credits)
15:00-17:00
The conical prosthetic connection - solutions and considerations for getting the best results - A hands-on workshop
Yuval Jacoby
Israel
The conical connection possesses clear mechanical and biological advantages but should be well understood in order to reap its benefits.

The aim of the workshop is to understand the advantages and sensitivities of the conical connection and learn how they affect our choice of prosthetic solutions in different clinical situations.

After this course, participants will:
  • Understand the geometric and mechanical characteristics of the conical connection
  • Understand how they affect our prosthetic solution choices
  • Understand how our clinical and laboratory work is affected
  • Hands-on familiarity with all available prosthetic solutions
  • Discuss the pros and cons of the variety of prosthetic solutions for the different clinical situations

Monolithic vs veneered implant reconstructions
Vincent Fehmer
Switzerland
The workshop will present a concept for the ideal choice of reconstructive material like reinforced glass ceramic and the different types of translucent Zirconia for high esthetic results and long term survival.

Attendees will learn:
  • How to reduce the risk of chipping of the veneering ceramic
  • In which clinical situation there is still a need for veneering ceramic
  • In which clinical situation to use which Zirconia or other reinforced glass ceramics

3-Dimensional implant planning and execution with guided surgery. Key factors for decision-making - A hands-on workshop
Ignacio Sanz Sánchez
This workshop will present comprehensive 3D diagnostics and implant planning to clinicians, who today are faced with demanding clinical scenarios, so that they may make the right decisions for an optimal patient treatment.

After this course, participants will:
  • Learn how template guided surgery ensures an accurate implant placement, following the chosen decisions and plans
  • Use digital technology through a simplified approach to learn to read 3D data, plan their implant cases and have more predictability
  • Use digital technology to avoid any pitfalls which may occur during surgery
  • Learn the technical and practical aspects required to become familiar with this technology and enable starting to apply it within their daily routine
